We are excited to share the inspiring work of the Global Community Food for Human Nutrition and Planetary Health (Global CFaH) in the Philippines, now featured in our latest video.
Watch the video here. Global CFaH Philippines

The Global CFaH Program is an international research initiative uniting experts in public health, agriculture, fisheries, and social sciences to strengthen local food systems for human and planetary health. The program operates in four small island nations: the Philippines, Fiji, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and St. Lucia, all of which are particularly vulnerable to climate change and food insecurity.

In the Philippines, the focus is on Palawan, where the program works closely with communities to promote sustainable and nutritious local food production. Guided by the principles of agroecology, as recommended by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, Global CFaH supports farming systems that work with nature rather than against it.

The Program at a Glance: 4 Work Packages

Work Package 1: Focuses on gathering essential information through evidence synthesis to have an initial understanding of the intervention made around the world to improve local food production and consumption. .

Work Package 2: Aims to collect baseline data from 24 local communities in Palawan to understand diet diversity, food production, food security, health status, and sustainable farming practices. .

Work Package 3: Involves collaboration between the community and Global CFaH to establish intervention through "Living Laboratories," which will find some solutions to help improve household nutrition, health, and food security.

Work Package 4: Data Modeling and analyzes data to project long-term impacts and inform future policies and practices.

Looking Ahead

The Global CFaH Program continues to evolve through inclusive collaboration with local communities and global partners. By co-creating knowledge and building on-ground capacity, it aims to foster food systems that are healthy, resilient, and ecologically sound.

Join us in this journey by watching the video and sharing how communities in Palawan are leading the way in shaping a more sustainable food future.
