In St Lucia, Global CFaH continues to centre community-led solutions that connect food production directly to everyday life. One of the most compelling examples of this is the work emerging from Helen’s Daughters, a women-led organisation that supports rural farmers and strengthens local food systems.
Through collaboration with Helen's Daughters, St. Lucian chefs Jasmine and Ameera, who are part of the Helen's Daughters community, have developed a series of locally grounded recipe cards which bridge the gap between growing food and actually using it.
Rooted in ingredients that are accessible, affordable, and culturally familiar, these recipes are designed to support healthier diets while making the most of what is already being produced within communities. More than just cooking guides, the recipe cards are a practical tool for behaviour change. They reflect the project’s broader approach: combining agroecological production with nutrition education to ensure that increased access to food translates into improved household health and dietary diversity.
